Zimmer AG, Frankfurt, has been awarded a contract for a major polyester project by Indo Rama Synthetics (I) Ltd., one of India’s largest polyester manufacturers. The plant will be located in Butibori, Maharashtra. The project with a total investment of 150 million Euro will be financed through a combination of internal funds and export credit facilities from German banks. It comprises two continuous polyester polycondensation (CP) plants with a capacity of 140,000 t/a of polymer each. The first CP shall be connected to two polyester staple fiber lines supplied by Zimmer while the second CP shall be utilised for a direct melt spinning POY plant.
