Siemens Water Technologies will provide Zimpro wet air oxidation technology to treat wastewater at PetroChina Company Limited’s Daqing ethylene plant projects in Heilongjiang Province, China. The system will be used to treat sulfidic spent caustic wastewater streams generated in the production of ethylene. The energy-efficient wet air oxidation systems will destroy odorous sulfide pollutants and generate a biodegradable effluent that can be discharged to conventional biological wastewater treatment. The Daqing system will treat approximately 22.7 m³/h of wastewater.
