Siemens IT Solutions and Services will get a new management. Former CEO Christoph Kollatz (49) is stepping down from his position effective immediately. Christian Oecking (47), head of the Global Operations Business Unit, will serve as acting head of Siemens IT Solutions and Services until preparations for appointing a new CEO for the cross sector business can be completed.
Siemens announced last week that the cross sector business would be more closely oriented to the needs of the IT market in view of unrelenting pricing and competitive pressure in the IT business. To this end, preparations have begun to transform the business into a legally independent unit on July 1, 2010. Thomas Zimmermann (41) – who has extensive experience in reorienting businesses as former Chief Operating Officer of Siemens Enterprise Communications (SEN) – will head the team preparing the legal independence.
