All the surfaces of the Gemü-Biostar are continuous and without edges and adhesion and deposits of impurities are thus prevented by this design. The connection bolts for the valve body and the actuator are completely encapsulated. FDA, GMP, USP, and QHD requirements are fulfilled without exception. The manual valve is made from stainless steel and has a handwheel in steam resistant high performance plastic which limits the heat flow and reduces the danger of hand injuries. All the internal movable parts are sealed by dynamic seals, all running surfaces are coated and the bearing of the valve spindle is a self-lubricating Igus bush in a PTFE compound. Stroke limiters, electrical position indicators as well as positioners can easily and quickly be retrofitted to the valves. In addition to straight through bodies a large number of standard bodies and individual multi-port bodies (Gemü M600) can be supplied. These are machined from a single block and offer the user maximum product quality. There are various types of soft elastomer and PTFE diaphragms.
