Festo now offers the proven modular valve terminal CPX/MPA with Atex certification for zones 2 and 22. For the first time, all the modules are individually evaluated as part of this and can be chosen via a configurator in accordance with the explosion protection requirements. This means that users in hazardous zones can now also benefit from the performance range and function integration of the CPX platform. In addition to convenient I/O options and flexible installation versions, CPX offers extensive diagnostic functions that enable machine and system downtimes to be avoided before they occur.
The electrical terminal CPX-P is also designed specifically for use in the process industries; it opens the way for further function integration and is specially adapted to the processing of specific signal types in process engineering systems. This new terminal facilitates, among other things, the connection of Namur sensors as well as analogue sensors and actuators. CPX-P systems are also particularly safe: the electronic modules are available with built-in intrinsically safe isolation. This means for the first time Festo is offering an intrinsically safe process interface – with protection to IP 65.
