Hicore 1, Hima’s safety system on chip is ideal for safety-critical applications – ranging from embedded systems to control in machinery and plant engineering – that require verification of functional safety. The chip includes all functions of a safety-related PLC and comes with an intrinsically safe operating system and middleware. All components of the package are certified according to IEC 61508 up to SIL 3, which greatly simplifies and accelerates TÜV approval. The architecture of the chip is based on a fully redundant 1oo2D design. The integrated communication subsystem operates independently and interference-free of the safe cores. The integrated processor cores feature individual, integrated data and program memories, separate on-chip debugging units and communication interfaces.
