Panel PCs in full HD for every application

Wireless in areas with potentially explosive atmosphere
Panel PCs in full HD for every application

With the Polaris Panel PC 17“ Professional and Polaris Remote 17“, Bartec is introducing a complete series in various display sizes in the wide screen format. Polaris is approved for use in areas with potentially explosive atmospheres, that is for zones 1 and 2 as well as 21 and 22, and they are characterised by high availability and cost efficiency, with the TFT technology providing the basis for this.

The target was to make the HD resolution, which is supported by state-of-the-art visualisation systems, available for areas with potentially explosive atmospheres, too. What is remarkable is the display technology which also ensures optimal contrast at large viewing angles. The full HD resolution with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, that is wide screen format, and a brightness of 400 cd/m² as well as a contrast of 600:1, provides an optimal overview. By means of an Ethernet interface, individual computers or network devices, such as a printer for instance, can be connected to an existing local network (LAN), optionally also via WLAN, or local networks can be set up completely wirelessly. Windows 7 is pre-installed as standard on the Panel PC. As a result, the Panel PCs are open for a lot of software packages, such as customer-specific software like ProTool, WIN CC flexible etc. or also for other commercially available standard visualisation software. Users can also work with the programming package BMS-Graf-pro (from version 7) here. The Internet Explorer is now also available as a means of production. This opens up a wide range of applications which were so far pos-sible only in non-explosive areas.
Trouble-free visualisation and operation
Polaris has been primarily designed for panel mounting. On request, however, the devices are also available as a turn-key system solution, for instance in a stainless steel housing for wall or floor mounting with a stand. All Panel PCs have been carried out in explosion protection type q (powder filling). The electrical connections are established via a terminal compartment of protection type e (increased safety) and protection type I (intrinsic safety). The front display is clearly arranged and easy to follow. A polyester foil ensures reliable protection against splash water, resulting in protection class IP 65 for the front display. Trouble-free operation is guaranteed even in the most difficult industrial environments. All Polaris devices have been approved in accordance with Atex II 2G Ex db eb qb [ib op pr] IIC T4 and IECEx Ex db eb qb [ib] IIC T4 as well as for application in dust Ex areas: Atex II 2D Ex tb IIIC T120 °C IP 6X and IECEx Ex tb IIIC T120 °C IP 6X. The devices have also been certified in accordance with Inmetro and Gost-R.
The Polaris Panel PC 17“ Professional is based on a 1.6 GHz-Intel-Atom processor. Powerful visualising and operating processes on site are guaranteed by a 1 GByte RAM (optional 2 GByte). Hard disks, flash drives or CF cards up to 100 GByte provide sufficient storage capacity for customer-specific applications. Users work with an intrinsically safe keyboard. An intrinsically safe touch screen and various mouse systems are also available. An extensive selection of wired interfaces allow the right connection for every periphery. Furthermore, the Polaris Remote 17“ offers the possibility for a remote solution. Here the user is in a position to connect a PC in the safe area to the Polaris remote station via a local amplifier. If it works in HD resolution, it can be transferred to the Ex area one-to-one. The remote station consists of a graphic display, an intrinsically safe keyboard and mouse. For this reason, transmission lengths of up to 10,000 m can be realised. Up to a length of 300 m, the signal is transferable via STP/S copper cable.
