The doors of the Pegasus safety cabinet are permanently closed even when not in use. Thus, vapours cannot escape into the room and permanently effective air intake and extraction is ensured. Owing to the asynchronous coupled mechanism, the cabinet doors are particularly easy to use and can be opened simultaneously with only one hand.
Safety cabinets are the best option when different types of hazardous materials need to be stored. Type-tested and periodically checked cabinets with ergonomic comfort features are especially advisable. One example is the Pegasus cabinet with its special features. The cabinet’s clever technology makes it possible to open both doors quite easily with one hand and also to close the doors automatically after use – without electrical power. This means 60 % less work and increased safety.
Thanks to the asynchronously coupled door opening mechanism (AGT), which uses an innovative sliding-block guide, both cabinet doors can be opened while carrying a container. It is not necessary to change the grip, which could be dangerous. It is also not essential to change the position taken up in front of the cabinet. The asynchronism of the doors moreover reduces the force that is needed. The right-hand door opens first and the left hand door shortly afterwards – as if by magic. As a result of this, the inertia mass of the two doors does not have to be overcome at the same time. By means of an innovative automatic door closing mechanism which does not need electricity (TSA), the doors close on their own after sixty seconds. The closing element, with its negative spring characteristic curve, ensures that the doors are extremely easy to open and pulled safely into the sealing elements in the final phase of the closing process. The pneumatic damping unit is the ideal solution for even, gentle and quiet closing of the doors. Sixty seconds after the doors are opened, a time-controlled pulse encoder releases the door catches. The doors of the safety cabinet then close automatically without an external electrical power source. Of course, the closing process can be interrupted at any time and it is always possible to close the cabinet manually.
The Pegasus safety cabinet allows hazardous materials to be stored in workrooms in compliance with DIN EN 14470–1 (Type 90) and TRbF 20 (Annex L). The cabinet’s interior fittings can be selected according to each customer’s individual requirements from shelves or drawers with a storage capacity of up to 235 l. Owing to its mechan-ical functional elements, the cabinet can also be installed in hazardous areas. It is even possible to use the Pegasus doors easily and safely while holding a container. The cabinet features a cylinder lock, which is also suitable for use in integrated locking systems, and there is a connection for air or vapour extraction in the roof. An earth connection is also provided in the roof area. Adjustment devices allow any unevenness in the floor or standing surface to be compensated and in case of fire, integrated thermal elements enable automatic closure of the doors and drawers. The cabinet is fire resistant for ninety minutes (type test according to DIN EN 14470–1, Type 90).
