With the ProVicom MT-916-iX104C3 tablet PC, R. Stahl HMI Systems has launched a portable control panel for use in zone 2 hazardous areas. The robust system achieves protection class IP 65 and complies with MIL-STD 810F. The 40 GB hard disk is installed shock-proof, making data safe even if the device is roughly handled. The 10.4“ TFT screen has a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. Alternatively, the MT-916 is also available with an AllVue display that guarantees legibility even in bright sunlight. Another alternative or add-on is the touch screen version. The tablet PC is operated with a pen, and the touch screen can also be operated with fingers. With an Intel Pentium M 1.2 GHz processor, 256 MB RAM and a 2 MB L2 cache, this tablet PC has solid performance reserves for typical HMI applications. Interface design includes a type I/II PCMCIA V3.0 slot, two USB connections, and a Gigabit-compliant Ethernet port. A WLAN module permits wireless communication according to IEEE 802.11 a/b/g.
