When developing the X-plore 1700 series, Dräger dedicated special attention to ensuring that the device is both easy to handle and the comfort of the wearer is maximised. It utilises a well researched combination of filter media which demonstrate strong protection yet minimise breathing resistance. The series also meets the requirements of the “dolomite clogging test” which judges the performance of the facepiece under heavy dust loads. An innovative exhalation valve, fitted to some of the masks within the series, further enhances breathing performance. The direction of the valve opening is aligned to the airflow during exhalation, meaning that exhaled air is expelled outside of the mask with far less effort. Additionally, the mask incorporates a moisture-repellant inner fleece to further enhance comfort when worn for extended periods. The head band of the Dräger X-plore 1700 consists of a continuous, permanently elastic stable textile band. A foam nose pad and flexible nose clip permit a comfortable fit with simultaneous high sealing characteristics at the nose.
