Dust filter cartridges and filter cassettes with pleat spacers reduce the operating cost of dust collectors. Pleat spacers maintain the effective filter area of pleated filter elements, preventing the deformation of the triangular shape of pleats caused by the pressure drop between raw gas side and clean side, which usually occurs in the case of conventional filter cartridges. Without the benefit of pleat spacers, filter surface is lost due to the collapse of the pleats resulting in a considerable pressure loss through the cartridge filters.
Special pleat spacers designed for pleated filter elements are placed on the clean side to stabilise the pleats. Their triangular shape is conserved ensuring that the entire filter surface is used for the air flowing through the filter element. The use of pleat spacers reduces substantially the pressure loss, compared with filter elements without pleat spacers. Especially in cases of rising air to cloth ratio, m³/(m²xh), or growing dust load, g/m³, pleat spacers produce a disproportionately significant effect. Pleat spacers are available with all filter media. Cleanable filter cassettes are supplied with a pleat depth of up to 100 mm.
