Cutting system for difficult-to-handle products
Loedige has developed a chopper system for demanding applications. It is placed tangentially and at right angle to the longitudinal axis of the mixer, through both sides of the mixing drum, and has two bearing points. This arrangement ensures steady and heavy-duty design suitable for difficult-to-handle products.

The cutting system proves to be particularly suitable for viscoplastic products or cake clods. The classical choppers with one bearing at one end, installed in a radial manner through one side of the mixing drum from the outside might reach their limit in such a case. The reason for this is that the product is guided by the mixing shovels towards the choppers. The lateral forces put a strain on the choppers in such a way that the seals and shafts might get damaged and cause total breakdown. This is not the case when using the cutting systems made by Lödige. Fitted with blades it is suitable for use in batch and continuous mixers. The cutting blades can be replaced without having to dismount the shaft.
