Vertical design saves space

Oil-free compressor for volume flows up to 600 Nm3/h
Vertical design saves space

The completely oil-free TRZ 1000 two-stage compressor developed by Mehrer Compression is characterised by a lean, vertical design and multiple uses. In addition to raw biogas, it can be employed for CO2 as well as all common process and toxic gases.

This two-stage, oil-free crosshead piston compressor, which achieves a volume flow of up to 600 Nm3/h, requires no oil lubrication whatsoever during the compression process and is thus ideally suited for the energy and environmental industries. In addition to compressing raw biogas upfront of processing, it is used, for example, to recover CO2 during brewing or to compress carbon dioxide during the production of dry ice. Toxic and process gases – not only methane and biogas but also hydrogen, nitrogen or biomethane – can likewise be compressed with the TRZ 1000. A water-cooled compressor operates at a suction pressure of up to 2 bar and a maximum final pressure of 26 bar.

The process gas machine has a lean, space-saving, vertical design and takes up significantly less space than horizontal compressors. Furthermore, the low overall height and dynamic mass ensure very low vibration levels during operation. All relevant operating parameters of the TRZ 1000, such as temperatures and pressures, are displayed on a panel. The machine is suitable for both belt and direct driving.
Robust construction
The construction of the TRZ 1000, whose main components are made of premium ductile iron, results in a compressor which is extremely robust and durable: it is rated for an operating lifetime of more than 20 years. Thanks to sound know-how and the use of highly wear-resistant materials in the piston and rider ring areas as well as around the optimised gas packing, the sealing elements far exceed the usual maintenance interval of 8000 operating hours, leading to a significant reduction in life cycle costs. Unscheduled downtime – and with it losses in production and income – are avoided through simple and regular maintenance.
Since compression is absolutely oil-free, the TRZ 1000 provides clean process gas at any time – and contamination of downstream systems is generally impossible. This eliminates the need for expensive and time-consuming cleaning.
The TRZ 1000 is offered in three different versions: as a compressor block which is integrated into the overall system by the packager itself, as a lean compressor package including the drive, piping and monitoring or as a complete compressor plant.
The latter consists of a compressor package plus control system and can be extended with components such as a dryer, a water cooling unit or an acoustic hood.
