Asco Numatics introduces a series of explosion proof solenoid valves that feature an Exapproved plug and socket connector system. The HA connector system enables the installation, maintenance, repair and servicing of solenoid valves to be carried out within a hazardous area, without the need to isolate the equipment. Because there is no need to obtain a hot work permit which can delay the start of work, a replacement device can be quickly installed keeping plant downtime to a minimum. The HA connection system comprises a male socket which is integrated into the solenoid valve, and a female connector which is available as an option. No tools are required and the available termination methods include crimped or cage-type spring-tension terminals. The plug and socket provides the highest degree of protection according to IP 66/IP 68 and is rated at up to 10 A. The connector can be used with voltages up to 250 V(AC) or 60 V(DC), making the compact units suitable for many applications.
