TriPower MF process pump for delivery rates from 4000 to 38,000 l/h at 50 to 400 bar pressure. This three-ton compact pump conforms to API 674
The TriPower MF process metering pump is characterised by a high degree of operational reliability and environmental protection. This is achieved by means of a hermetically sealed, hydraulic diaphragm unit that effectively prevents chemical leaks, a PTFE double diaphragm with an integrated overflow valve and an integrated pressure lubrication system that minimises servicing and maintenance requirements to ensure round-the-clock, trouble-free operation. Aggressive media are delivered efficiently even under adverse operating conditions.

The size of a pump unit is a decisive selection factor, particularly on oil rigs. Since in most cases the space available on the floating pump stations is more than cramped, every centimetre saved counts. This means the smaller the better. ProMinent meets these challenges with the TriPower MF: the Heidelberg based manufacturer has developed a high-performance process pump that takes up minimal space. Its compact design is made possible by an integrated gear mechanism, so that a much smaller footprint can be realised compared to conventional pump models. The fixed-stroke, oscillating, positive-displacement pump series has a delivery rate of 4 to 38 m³/h at pressures of 50 to 400 bar. Thanks to their special design features, these hydraulic diaphragm metering pumps master the harshest process environments in the oil and gas industry. They satisfy demanding requirements in terms of linearity, reproducibility and synchronism as stipulated by the standards of the American Petrol Institute (API). They pump chemical, toxic and combustible liquids reliably and continuously, even in conditions involving large temperature fluctuations and high back pressures. The excellent reproducibility of the chemical feed system is also a decisive factor in improving process quality. Among the typical applications of ProMinent’s fixed-volume, oscillating, positive-displacement pumps are glycol metering in natural gas storage facilities, methanol metering in offshore applications and the delivery of base substances in the chemical industry as required, for example, in the manufacture of pellets.

Materials with a high resistance to chemicals – namely special stainless steel 1.4404, Hastelloy and alloy 20 – are employed in the various pump heads to ensure trouble-free metering of aggressive chemical media. In addition to pump head materials that are resistant to aggressive, corrosive and flammable media, process safety is boosted by multi-layer safety diaphragms with rupture sensing. Besides safely metering chemical fluids, these special diaphragms ensure that the metered medium remains inside the pump head and is unable to leak. This is the outcome of a perfected design concept: the chemical and temperature-resistant, double PTFE diaphragm hermetically seals the product chamber from the hydraulics. Even in the event of diaphragm rupture, this technology effectively prevents hydraulic oil from mixing with the metered medium. It also guarantees that no hazardous media can escape into the environment. If a dia-phragm ruptures, the metered medium penetrates between the diaphragm layers, thus triggering an alarm in the sensor area. This rupture sensing concept assures reliable metering even under critical operating conditions. It is consequently possible to respond immediately to any damage and to continue metering up to the next shift change without interrupting the production process.
Peristaltic pumps
ProMinent recently added peristaltic pumps for low, medium and high delivery rates to its product portfolio. Owing to the wide delivery rate range from 56 to 25,000 l/h and the extensive variety of tube materials, they are equally well suited for laboratory or industrial applications. The comprehensive hose platform assures high chemical compatibility. The company’s Dulcoflex peristaltic pumps are divided into three series: Type DFAa for delivery rates up to 100 l/h at 2 bar pressure, Type DFBa for delivery rates up to 12,000l/h at 8 bar and Type DFCa for up to 25,000 l/h at 16 bar. Whereas the peristaltic pumps for low pressures up to 8 bar are equipped with roller technology, sliding blocks with a lubrication system are used for higher pressures up to 16 bar. The main advantages include gentle medium delivery, dry-priming capability and suitability for use with viscous or abrasive media. The delivered medium only comes into contact with the tube and can have a liquid or gaseous consistency. Thanks to the low load operation, shear-sensitive products can likewise be delivered without any problems.
