Watson-Marlow presented the Qdos 30 pump range for the first time at Achema 2012
Watson-Marlow launched its new Qdos 30 pump range at Achema 2012. Developed in response to extensive industrial customer feedback regarding improved chemical metering, the Qdos 30 eliminates ancillary equipment, enhances productivity and reduces chemical waste through more accurate, linear and repeatable metering than typical solenoid or stepper driven diaphragm metering pumps.

The Qdos 30 delivers an unrivalled 5000:1 flow range from 0.1 to 500 ml/min and 7 bar while integrating easily thanks to IP 66 man-ual, analogue and Profibus control options. Featuring patented ReNu pumphead technology, the Qdos 30 is fully sealed for safe, tool-free maintenance.

Qdos 30 pumps boost process efficiency by providing accurate, linear and repeatable flow performance, even when metering difficult fluids with varying pressure, viscosity and sol-ids contents. There are no seals or valves in the flow path to clog, leak or corrode.
Fluids that are caustic, abrasive, viscous, shear-sensitive or gaseous as well as slurries and fluids containing suspended solids can thus be handled safely and securely. Advanced control features include fluid level monitoring, fluid recovery, line priming and intuitive flow calibration.
Developed in response to extensive customer feedback, Qdos 30 pumps feature Watson-Marlow’s ReNu pumphead technology. Quick and easy pumphead removal and replacement help minimise process downtime and require no specialist tools, training or technicians.
The pumphead can be configured on the left or right, making it ideal for installing in restricted environments or on skids, while its sealed design and fluid recovery eliminate wastage and ensure operator safety. Operation is intuitive via a menu-driven interface with a 3.5″ TFT colour display, providing high-visibility status indications. The keypad and display are positioned for easy access along with input and output connections.
The premium model in the new range is the Qdos 30 Universal+. This pump offers multiple features and high functionality. For example, the pump response to the 4…20 mA input signal is fully configurable, and a 4…20 mA output and alarm output are available.
Applications capability
Featuring all-new hardware and software, the applications for the Qdos 30 include disinfection and pH adjustment of drinking and industrial process water, flocculation, industrial cooling water preparation and reagent dosing in mineral processing to name but a few. The versatile pump design and range mean customers can select the pump that meets their precise application requirements. The maintenance intervals are up to six months assuming typical usage, reducing the impact of process downtime. In addition to the Qdos 30 Universal+ pump, four other variants are available.
