Many valves without an integrated, precise opening indicator are still in use, the corresponding disadvantages are, however, less frequently tolerated as the result of increased efficiency, quality and economy requirements in production processes. The DKA02 control knobs are compact components which were designed especially for process, medical, chemical and drive applications.

Conventional valves only feature a distinct end stop at the fully open or fully closed position. All other positions must be either determined with the aid of additional measuring instruments or by means of time-consuming and expensive trials. Additional measuring instruments are required for precise flow dosing which, however, often cannot be mounted directly on the respective valve.

The basic technical principle of the Siko control knobs is based on a combination of a digital-mechanical counter as a position indicator with a manual wheel as an operating element. Both components are integrated into a single device. Even minimum changes in the spindle position can be made and read off exactly straight away depending on the scale. Complex test runs, for example for determining the required flow rates, are no longer necessary.
In the meantime, the Siko range includes five different control knobs with scales and mounting options which reliably cover all technically relevant operations for process and dosing applications.
The DKA02 is a miniature control knob with an integrated analog indicator. Siko is using a toothed differential gear which transfers the shaft rotation to the display. One of the special design features of the DKA02 is the high gear ratio of 26:1, and up to 26 manual wheel rotations can be clearly depicted on the scale. However, the device only contains few components, a fact which permits its lightweight construction of only 16 g. The DKA02 has a tough plastic housing and withstands ambient temperatures of up to +80 °C.
The standard control knob shaft mount is 10 mm, and smaller dimensions are also pos-sible to suit customer requirements. The direction of rotation is available with either a left-hand or right-hand pitch.
Siko supplies the DKA02 control knob with either a standard or customised scale, which can be monochrome or multi-coloured. With the individual scale it is, for example, also possible to indicate the non-linear progression of flows. In spite of its compact dimensions the DKA02 has a large viewing window which allows convenient reading and therefore precise adjustment.
