When labelling products within a production it’s neces-sary that all data printed are correct. For instance, selecting the wrong print job due to mistyping could cause a completed production line shut down. To prevent this Leibinger has equipped its inkjet printers of the JET3 and JET2neo series with the “Shoot and Print” feature. Herewith the non-contact marking of products in the industry will become more reliable.
This feature is simple but effective: instead of selecting the number of the job, the corresponding print job simply gets loaded via a handheld scanner. Typos and wrong job choices are prevented. The “Shoot and Print” function is possible, due to the almost unlimited storage capability of the inkjet printers JET3 and JET2neo. All print jobs neces-sary for the production can be stored preconfigured in the printers. At any time these jobs can be loaded via the handheld scanner. Therefore the production planning department prints an appropriate barcode on the job ticket. To load the correct print job, this barcode simply needs to be scanned by the production staff.
