This even makes it possible to create sterile environments. The use of hose connections is especially beneficial in circuits with many moving parts, since the hoses are much more flexible than pipes. Before connecting, the hose is adapted so that it ensures a reliable connection. A seal is not needed for this series, thus eliminating one point of attack for aggressive substances. Also, seals in the quality required for the applications where Freeline connections are used represent a significant cost factor.
