Clean vacuum for pilot plants
VAC 24seven vacuum pumping units offer a demand oriented pump configuration with integrated vacuum control and very good chemical resistance. All systems are clean, ecological and completely free from oil and water. The units provide continuous operational availability even in case of servicing.
For many applications, both in the chemistry laboratory and also in kilo labs, classic oil-sealed rotary vane pumps, water-jet pumps and liquid ring pumps have been replaced by oil-free chemistry diaphragm pumps. The conservation of resources like oil and water has become an increasingly important consideration in this change process. Vario diaphragm pumps from Vacuubrand regulate the vacuum directly and precisely. The VAC 24seven series is designed for pilot and industrial scale applications. For applications involving aggressive or condensable gases and vapours, it provides a clean and reliable, oil- and contamination-free vacuum source.
The VAC 24seven product line is a modular system. Depending on requirements, up to three pump modules can be combined easily and economically with a single control module. At the heart of every pump module are two individual, variable speed chemistry pumps. The pump modules are available in two different versions offering either 5 or 70 mbar ultimate vacuum. A pumping speed of up to 120 m³/h can be achieved. Featuring the CVC 3000 vacuum control technology, the control module takes care of the synchronised vacuum control of each individual pump. The CVC 3000 determines the required throughput and ensures an optimised process flow through demand oriented speed control. This modular concept eliminates the need for vacuum pumps with a process-specific design.
Long-term stability
With Vacuubrand diaphragm technology, the pump chamber is hermetically sealed from the drive mechanism. All single pump components coming into contact with the media – from the inlet side through to the discharge side – are made of fluoropolymers. Fluoropolymers and perfluoroelastomers contain fluorine atoms in their chemical structures and provide not only outstanding chemical resistance but also low surface energy, resulting in minimal surface adherence. The most highly stressed components – the head cover and diaphragm clamping disc – were designed with stability core technology, which is manufactured in an elaborate multi-stage production process. The thick-walled fluoropolymer around its metallic core is diffusion resistant and highly resilient. In combination with PTFE sandwich diaphragms and valves, the pumps are able to deliver long-life stability. In addition, easily accessible, externally mounted inlet separators keep the pump clean and dry at any time.
Energy efficient motors
The vacuum control of the VAC 24seven product line is based on the CVC 3000 controller. With its robust, chemically resistant capacitive ceramic diaphragm sensor, it guarantees high measurement and control accuracy for industrial applications. In addition to the large visual display and intuitive user interface, the controller also provides several modes of operation and programming options depending on the application. The Vario technology controls the speed of the high-efficiency Green VAC permanent magnet motors from 0 to 100 % as needed. Energy savings of more than 90 % can be achieved compared to conventional control technology with constant speed pumps, depending on the nature of the process. Designed for industrial requirements, the control module has various interface options for integrating central control systems (PLC) and controlling external valves directly if necessary. The integrated LAN connector already contains a Web-based software tool for remote control and documentation of the processes on a PC.
Individually removable for servicing
The chemically resistant stability core design of the head cover and diaphragm clamping disc is a significant factor in ensuring that the diaphragm pump fulfils its performance specification over a long period of operation. Depending on the application, an average servicing interval of 15,000 h can be expected. As the pumps run only temporarily at full speed, they can be removed individually for servicing purposes without affecting the vacuum process. The speed of the remaining pump(s) is automatically adjusted by the controller. Each individual pump is compact and can be isolated and removed easily from the system by just one person without interrupting vacuum operation. Of course, although the pumps are very easy to service and maintain in-house, the pump manufacturer can also offer on-site servicing on request. The VAC 24seven service concept warrants maximum uptime as well as optimal system availability 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
