The sterile swivel joint not only protects the hose but also the products it contains. The internal geometry is optimised to provide easy and complete cleaning as required for the critical products it transmits. To achieve this, RS design engineers have incorporated a number of improvements:
- O-ring integration to DIN 11864 standard
- Controlled O-ring compression with axial loading
- Stability to lateral forces is provided with roller bearings
- Separate gasket region
- Variable connections possible with orbital welding end
The body of the sterile swivel joint consists of grade 1.4404 and 1.4435 stainless steel. The O-ring is made from EPDM, and other seals from PTFE. Alternative materials can be provided on request. The range covers diameters from DN 10 to DN 25 (with orbital welding end). The swivel joint is suitable for pressures up to PN 16 and temperatures up to 130 °C.
