The photoelectric sensors QS30H2O from Banner Engineering detect the presence or absence of water in transparent and translucent glass and plastic containers. A high powered version can also detect water-based liquids in many opaque glass and plastic containers. The QS30H20 sensors provide reliable quality control for bottling and filling of water-based liquids. The sensor can also verify that liquid is being emitted from nozzles to assure proper operation of spraying systems for washing, cooling, package gluing and other applications.
Standard power models are appropriate for applications where the container is transparent, such as clear water in clear bottles. They can also detect the presence or absence of a water coating on the outside of containers. High power models are recommended when the container is opaque or not completely transparent. A rapid response time of 1 ms allows the sensors to be used on high line speeds. The infrared beam is powerful enough to burn through dust and other airborne contaminants. Accessory apertures can narrow the light beam in order to improve the accuracy of liquid level detection. Rugged and leak proof, the sensors are rated to IP 67 for harsh environments.
