Phoenix Contact presents the serial IO-link master module: As a Profibus stand-alone device, the FLS PB M12 IOL 4 M12 module fits in with the Fieldline product family in the protection class IP 65/IP 67. Four IO-link channels offer communication to IO-link-capable sensors and actuators. They are also downwardly compatible with binary sensors. IO-link is the new standard for communication at the lowest field level. It offers an integrated communication interface for sensors and actuators. Gateway and communication DTMs ensure integrated device configuration up to the sensor/actuator level. The IO-link system has three advantages for users:
- Easy wiring for analogue measuring sensors through direct digital transmission of the measured signal
- Simplified management of parameters through integrated service data transmission
- Diagnosis of the conductor level up to the sensor/actuator level through diagnostic data transmission integrated in the IO-link protocol
All advantages of the Fieldline system, such as easy and affordable mounting and the Speedcon connections, are also integrated in the IO-link master module.
