Eight trade fairs, all under the same roof

World of industrial automation
Sepp D. Heckmann is Deutsche Messe AG managing board member with responsibility for the Hannover Fair
The Hannover Fair 2004 will present a clear new profile to visiting professionals, built around the three main concepts of technology, innovation and automation. This new approach, explains Sepp D. Heckmann, Deutsche Messe AG managing board member with responsibility for the Hannover Fair, represents a conscious attempt to more sharply delineate the contours of the world’s biggest industrial trade fair. Some 5,500 exhibitors will be on hand to present solutions for all branches of industry at a total of eight separate, but interlinked trade fairs. Thanks to the addition of Interkama+, the world fair for process automation, as a partner event to the flagship Factory Automation show at Hannover Fair 2004 (from 19. to 24. April), visitors will for the first time ever be treated to the entire international spectrum of industrial automation at a single venue. Interkama+, on the other hand, includes the entire spectrum of process automation: automation and IT solutions, field devices and components, control and regulator systems as well as engineering, maintenance and services. Interkama+ is a magnet for visitors from 16 user industries for process automation technology, including the chemical industry, the pharmaceutical industry and the petrochemical industry. This dynamic automation duo of Interkama+ and Factory Automation will be rounded out by the following concurrent international trade fairs: Energy, Subcontracting, SurfaceTechnology plus Powder Coating Europe, MicroTechnology and Research & Technology. This line-up makes it easy to see the interaction and synergy effects between the individual industrial sectors. As Heckmann puts it: “Hannover Fair 2004 is the only horizontal trade fair for all application areas of industry. This is where the entire automation community makes an appearance – from development to production“. The individual trade fairs have also been expanded and realigned to match the respective innovation cycles.
