The Ferrum Pusher Centrifuge has a continuous filtration capability and is ideal for separating suspended, fast draining crystalline and granular or fibrous products. An integrated pre-thickener enables the pusher centrifuge to be fed with a solid/liquid mixture that has a solid content as low as 30 to 35 % by weight. The integrated pre-thickener is a conical device installed between the inlet pipe and the first stage of the rotating basket. The incoming slurry first experiences a thin film filtration before it hits the sieves of the rotating filter basket, where it goes through the build up of the filtrating cake and is then pushed out continuously as cylindrical filter cake, as it is known from the pusher centrifuges standard operation. With the integrated pre-thickener the machine gets very robust against variation of concentration.
