Krohne launches the Optisonic 8300, an ultrasonic flow meter specialised for the measurement of super-heated steam. The 2-beam flow meter is characterised by a measuring accuracy of 1 %, high repeatability and a large dynamic measuring range. With its full bore flow sensor without moving parts or obstructions and an overall robust construction with no cables and sensitive parts exposed, the system can uphold measuring accuracy without maintenance or subsequent calibration for up to 20 years. With nominal sizes ranging from DN 100…1000/4…40″ the flow meter is particularly suited to high flow rates. Pressure rating up to 200 bar and temperature rating up to 540 °C are available, higher requirements on request. With temperature and pressure sensors connected to the device, the integrated flow computer can calculate the steam mass flow.
