The permanent elastic Perel gasket types HL and ML for glass lined steel and stainless steel covers have been designed for and are used in demanding operating conditions that may occur with handholes and manways with repeated opening and closing.
The Perel gasket requires a low surface pressure (2 Mpa), eminent for the application in openings with crank locking for sampling devices, for covers and the like. Due to its unique design the gasket conforms well to flange irregularities and waviness. The stainless steel reinforcement rings with fastening straps give the gasket the necessary stability and prevent it from blow-out. The Perel gasket may be installed in temperatures ranging from -20 up to +200 °C and pressures from vacuum to 6 bar. Used within the indicated temperature range the Perel gasket remains flexible (elastic), is not subject to aging and has an unlimited shelf life.
