The special feature of the stainless steel industrial PCs of the Steel Series is the fully-enclosed design without ventilation slots and external fans susceptible to failure. The waterproof computers meet the IP 65 degree of protection. This makes them simple and problem-free to clean or disinfect – even with high-pressure.
The noax industrial PCs of the Steel Series are characterized by a polished V2A stainless steel housing (1.4031) with absolutely smooth surfaces. The installation of special, pharmaceutical-approved seals between the housing and the touch display means that the devices no longer have any slits and joints. This allows the Steel IPCs to meet even the stringent hygiene requirements found in the pharmaceutical production. The fully-enclosed design without ventilation slots and external fans gives the IPCs complete protection from spray water and so achieve the IP 65 degree of protection. As standard, the computers are equipped with high-contrast and very long life industrial TFT displays that guarantee good readability even under poor conditions. Diagonal sizes of 12 and 15 inch are available. The integrated resistant touch panels with hardened plastic surface ensure a simple and permanent operation even when subjected to chemical effects. The displays, for example, can be affixed with various touch-sensitive touch protective foils appropriate for the acid or alkaline type. The double-secured connectors and the installation of a particularly shockproof hard-disk protect against shocks and vibrations. For the direct assembly on production carriers, on request, noax also uses particularly shock-resistant solid-state disks and special shock absorber pads.
Ingenious technology
Despite the compact and fully-enclosed stainless steel design, the Steel IPCs cover a large performance spectrum: the micro-controller installed as standard automatically performs many individually scalable monitoring functions, such as the operating hours counter, the temperature monitoring or the control of the backlight. The S12 and S15 computers are also equipped with N6 motherboards developed in-house. They offer Intel Pentium III processors with clock frequencies between 400 and 700 MHz, many on-board interfaces and a 10/100 MB/s Ethernet interface. Furthermore, the IPCs can at any time be upgraded using the free standard slots. This allows the simple and uncomplicated connection of various peripheral devices such as weighing systems, readers or scanners. The connection of printers, external keyboards or drives also presents no problem. If required, all the terminals are supplied fully configured and as ready-to-use IPCs.
