The compact Coperion Waeschle Wyk diverter valve is available in two different versions – a COP and a CIP version. The COP version (cleaning out of place) with its conical plug design enables particularly easy access and simple dismantling for inspection and cleaning, even when the valve is still installed. This is es- pecially advantageous when adhesive and cohesive powders are being conveyed. The Wyk in CIP version is purged of all product residues after the fully automatic cleaning process. During the cleaning process with the usual CIP media the rotating plug is automatically pulled slightly out of the housing towards the rear. Due to the conical design of the rotating plug there is a larger gap between the rotating plug and housing, and as a result the cleaning medium reaches all surfaces which are in contact with the product, removing all prod-uct residues. Purging fluid can be additionally injected and drained off through openings in the drive unit cover. The rotating plug is subsequently moved back to the normal operating position after cleaning and drying has been completed. The Wyk diverter valve is designed on the basis of the guidelines of the EHEDG, and features special seals which are flush with the surface. The surface roughness of the valve is #0.8 µm. Versions for potentially explosive atmospheres and high product temperatures are available as options.
