Kalcret hard compound, applied by casting or trowelling, has been proven as a versatile wear protection material for lining components of industrial plants wherever large quantities of bulk material have to be handled. Kalenborn now offers a new application technique that allows Kalcret-S to be quickly sprayed on large surfaces. The spraying can be done horizontally, vertically and even overhead. Re-working the applied lining results in an extremely smooth surface. Kalcret-S comes in 2 formulas, suitable for application temperatures up to 400 or 1200 °C.
Kalcret-S is a mixture consisting of hard mineral particles (portion by weight 70 %) of corundum or bauxite with grain sizes up to 4 mm, cement as the binder, steel fibers for structural strength, microsilica and chemical additives. The prod-uct is hardened hydraulically to a cold compressive strength of almost 2000 MPa without any additional thermal treatment. Under normal conditions 75 % of the final strength is reached after no more than 8 hours. Consequently, the spraying technology is ideal also for repairs.
