Sliding gate valves provide control of liquid, steam and gaseous media. They are characterizsd by their compactness, their weight, which falls below the weight of traditional globe valves by a factor of up to 10, low actuation forces and favourable flow characteristics. In addition, they are insensitive against cavitation, exhibit low noise emission and minimal wear, and can be operated at maximum differential pressures and at extreme temperatures. Besides valve bodies made from the standard materials carbon steel 1.0570 and 1.0619 and stainless steel 1.4571 and 1.4581, Schubert & Salzer now offer also sliding gate valves manufactured from the special materials hastelloy, monel, titanium, 1.4539 stainless steel and duplex steel. Valves from these materials can also be utilised for processes with critical, aggressive, and highly corrosive media. The valves in these special materials are available in finely graded nominal sizes ranging from DN15 to DN250.
