The Rosemount 8721 magnetic flowmeter is designed specifically for food, beverage, pharmaceutical and biotechnology applications, and has achieved EHEDG certification.
The Model 8721 utilises FDA approved materials for all surfaces in contact with the process fluid, with 316SS or Hastelloy electrodes and a PFA liner. The flowtube is CIP/SIP cleanable, and with an ID that matches the process piping to eliminate step changes: the internal design is free of cracks and crevices, and is self draining. The Rosemount 8721 is available with a variety of process connections, including Tri-clamp, IDF, Din 11851 and weld-on fittings in 3161-, with smooth polished surfaces: optionally these are electro- polished to 0.5 µm. The process gaskets, available in a variety of materials, are easily accessed to facilitate inspection and maintenance. The compact, all stainless steel meter body is fully welded, and critical areas are potted to provide a hermetic seal, protecting the internal components and wiring. With a maximum operating temperature of 160 °C the meter is easily cleaned and is unaffected by pressurised steam and sanitation chemicals.
