Bus systems are on the increase. This requires the transmission of sensitive signals which must be protected from corruption by means of shielded cables and connectors. Har- ting has added an M 12 connector for shielded cable to their Harax range. As with all products in this range, rapid cable termination is achieved using axial insulation displacement. This technology can now be used to connect the braided shield without the need for special tools. The first version to be released is for Profibus systems with an Ethernet version to follow.
