The development of Profinet devices and, above all, the setup and maintenance of Profinet networks prerequisite the use of suitable analysis tools. While developing a device, tests need to be run to verify whether telegrams are transmitted to the correct station in the correct order, whether the telegram contents correspond to the specified encoding, and much more. The tool Ethereal is excellently suited for the diagnosis of protocols that use Ethernet as the network. To optimally exploit the advantages of this standard tool for Profinet I/O also in industrial environments, Softing offers specific decoders and configurable filters for the Profinet I/O protocol. Featuring an additional documentation adapted specifically to suit the needs of Profinet users, Softing is thus releasing a Profinet tool whose powerful analysis functions allow not only performing but also optimizing the development and setup as well as the diagnosis of Profinet devices and systems. The user can set the available filters for different telegram types, contents and data both during recording and during evaluation.
