PCI’s standard small-scale pilot plant comes equipped with a 1.2 m long B1 tubular module, allowing cross-flow of process liquor over a membrane area of 0.9 m2. For applications requiring nanofiltration and reverse osmosis, this versatile unit can be fitted with up to six 3.6 m long modules, increasing the total membrane area to 15.6 m2. Alternatively, easy on-the-spot replacement of the membrane/housing enables the pilot plant to accommodate a wide range of 2.5“ x 40“ polymeric membranes, in spiral-wound configurations, testing across the filtration spectrum.
The plant is supplied complete with feed pump, shell-and-tube-design heat exchanger for control of process temperature, and all necessary instrumentation allowing data for scale-up to be collected accurately and easily.
