Knick’s Unical 9000 system controls pneumatic drives of sensor lock gates as well as pumps for buffer and cleaning solutions. In addition to that, it monitors reservoirs of these solutions. Electrodes are calibrated automatically in pre-set or user-specific program sequences, which considerably reduces maintenance efforts. A newly developed pump system with separate pumps and separate lines for buffer, cleaning and flushing liquids prevents contamination, does away with the tedious flushing of lines and increases measuring precision. Unical 9000 is controlled via Protos 3400, a process analysis system which also provides Unical’s power supply. Alternatively, Unical can be connected directly to a PLC. An interface allows the control system to be integrated into Profibus PA networks.
