Nuremberg’s spring of exhibitions

Powtech, TechnoPharm and much more besides
Nuremberg’s spring of exhibitions

From March 27 to 29, 2007 Nuremberg Exhibition Centre will provide a highly informative forum for the powder and bulk solids industry. Around 700 exhibitors from Germany and abroad will take advantage of Powtech to show new and improved products. The fair will coincide with TechnoPharm, which with almost 300 exhibitors expected to attend, has emerged as Europe’s leading platform for the highly specific market of life science process technologies. The Centre will additionally host several congresses like Partec, the ESMG Symposium and the European Congress on Life Science Process Technology.

Powtech, which today is successfully established as Europe’s leading trade fair for mechanical processing technologies and particle analysis, offers a concentrated and comprehensive survey of the latest state of the art in these areas. The range of products on display will cover basic processing technologies for powder and bulk material, plant engineering and processing components, particle analysis and characterisation, nanoparticle technology, measurement and control, and safety and environmental technology. Particular importance will be attached to safety and explosion protection – after all, 80 % of all industrially processed dusts are explosive. The European Safety Management Group will provide information about process safety and industrial explosion protection at its international ESMG Symposium. The symposium presentations will deal with the analysis of industrial damage incidents, new methods from safety research, new findings on risk assessment, safety engineering and new techniques for preventive and design measures in the field of explosion protection. The daily demonstrations of dust and gas explosions in the Exhibition Centre park will be especially impressive in this connection and show the enormous potential hazard.

Hosokawa Alpine and Hecht Anlagenbau are just two of the companies who have followed Powtech’s evolution ever since the very first event at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre and witnessed its steady growth over the years – from a small fair that scarcely filled a single pavilion to its present scale occupying six of the Centre’s modern halls and attracting 700 exhibitors. The two firms’ expectations of this year’s Powtech are accordingly very high, as the statements by Günther Hecht and Bertram Brenner confirm.
Particle experts gather at Partec
Around 500 participants from all over the world will be represented at this year’s Partec Congress in the new CCN East Convention Centre. The motto of the event: “Innovations occur at the interfaces“. The Congress will be headed by Prof. Wolfgang Peukert of the Department of Particle Technology at the University of Erlangen. Leading particle specialists have been invited to give abstract presentations. There will also be tandem presentations for the first time in 2007. These are presentations in which a topic is presented jointly by one expert from research and one from industry. The tandem presentations will underline Partec 2007’s claim to support the transfer of knowledge between research and industrial applications in a professional and highly effective way and to make synergies experiencable. Detailed information about the Congress agenda is available on the Internet at www.partec2007.de.
