Elfab has developed an environmentally friendly gra-phite bursting disc. A unique impregnation process has enabled the company to replace the dangerous Phenol- and Furane-based resins that have traditionally been used within the bursting-disc industry. The Methacrylate-based system has been trialled and field-tested for over six months, during which time the product’s performance has exceeded traditionally-impregnated graphite. One of the reasons for the trials‘ success is that the final lacquer lay applied to the disc is identical to the one used previously, ensuring that the disc surface in contact with the process medium remains unchanged.
