The most remarkable feature of the Flottweg AC2000 series is the SoftShot discharge system. While other disc stack centrifuges produce a loud banging noise during discharge, the SoftShot discharge is barely discernable from the normal operating sound. Under operation conditions, the sound pressure level of this AC models is that low that the centrifuges can be installed in normal working areas. The AC2000 has been specifically designed for the requirements of several industries such as food, beverage, chemistry, pharmacy and biotechnology. The design of the bowl results to a big clarification area and a large solids holding space. The optimized hydrodynamics inside the bowl lead to highly efficient liquid-solid separation. The machine is available as clarifier for liquid-solid separation and 3-phase separator for liquid-liquid-solid separation. For installation in explosion hazardous areas the disc stack centrifuge fulfills all Atex requirements for the zones 1 and 2. The disc stack centrifuges of the AC series enable exactly reproducible partial discharges as well as partial and total discharges in any combination. The discharge time can be adjusted to a tenth of a second, even during operation.
