Aerosil fumed silica is manufactured by means of a high-tech continuous combustion process (flame hydrolysis). By precise adjustment and control of a large number of process parameters, different particle sizes are achieved. The individual product types differ in surface area, given in square meters per gram (standard types range from 90 to 380 m2/g).
