The cost-efficient aluminium housings of ignition protection type Ex d protect standard industrial electrical components in hazardous areas. The 8250 series by R.Stahl is designed for stand-alone wall installation. Currently two different sizes are available. The housings can accommodate motor starters with performances up to 45 kW and bulky control technology. Enclosures of components are pressure resistant, furthermore the housings are easily accessible: the lids can be hanged at any side and open wider than 180°. Electrical components may be mounted either directly on profile rails or on mounting plates. Due to the CAD-optimised design, the weight was reduced by 15 %. The aluminium alloy is seawater resistant. Depending on the housing features, the material will tolerate environmental temperatures between -60 °C and +70 °C. The housings are rated according to IP 66.
