Precision and reliability in pH measurement are of the greatest importance in aggressive and heavily contaminated media. This is why the sensor must be cleaned, calibrated and serviced at regular intervals. These processes are carried out automatically with TopCal S of Endress +Hauser. The measuring point adapts itself to the process concerned through its cleaning and calibration programs. The cleaning and calibration processes are triggered automatically by the process control system or via the sensor check system (SCS). In the case of interval measurement, the electrode is only dipped in the fluid briefly to take a measurement. This increases service life in aggressive fluids many times over. The few service tasks, such as topping up the buffer and cleaner or any change of electrode will be announced by TopCal S in good time through its comprehensive safety functions. TopCal S communicates via binary inputs/outputs and also via Profibus PA or Hart.
