Burgmann Industries has developed two compounds for fiber kneaded packings. As its name suggests, Burajet-White is a white compound on a PTFE basis with high-performance lubricant, and was specially designed for applications in the paper, pulp and chemical industries. The second is called Burajet-Black, and is a black compound on a graphite/PTFE basis with high-performance lubricant for universal applications in virtually all industrial sectors.
Both types are ideal for use in pumps, mixers, masticators, refiners, grinders and for static applications and valves. The use of Burajet is uncomplicated and requires no great technical outlay. The packing presents no problems whatsoever in physiological terms, and its resistance to chemicals is in pH range 0 to 14. Special Burajet features include: very good running characteristics, minimal frictional forces, optimum leakage reduction, reduced wear, and excellent adaptability to asymmetric installation spaces or run-in shafts (these do not have to be removed or re-machined). The Burajet products can be used at pressures of up to 25 bar in pumps, and up to 75 bar in valves or static applications. Maximum temperature and sliding velocity levels are 250 °C and 10 m/s respectively.
