Raytek has expanded and enhanced its MI Series of miniature digital non-contact infrared (IR) thermometers with the release of the MIH sensor as well as enhanced versions of the popular MID and MIC sensor models. The MIH sensor can be installed in environments with ambient temperatures up to 180 °C without the need for costly water or air cooling accessories, making it ideal for continuous temperature monitoring in high-temperature applications. In addition, the MIH sensor includes a Teflon coated cable to withstand exposure to harsh chemical environments. The cable connects the miniature sensing head to the sensor electronics housed separately in a protective box. Both the MID and MIC IR sensors have been enhanced with Halogen and Silicone-free PUR cables to withstand harsh environments. While the MID model can be installed in ambient environments up to 85 °C, the MIC sensor can handle ambient environments up to 125 °C, also without the need for water or air cooling. Both MIC and MIH sensors include additional calibration for increased measurement accuracy.
