The PID 3400–121 module enhances the usability of Knick’s modular measurement system Protos 3400. Convenient controller functions with configurable PID characteristics allow for stand-alone on-site process control or assist higher-level automation controllers. The module features analog and digital controller outputs and operates as a continuous or quasi-continuous controller. Depending on the measuring modules and the measuring range, the controlled variable and the setpoint value are freely configurable. Additionally, the module is equipped with two limit value contacts, thereby enabling e.g. three-step control over subordinate control loops. Protos 3400 comes in two different versions: either with a corrosion-proof, chemical-resistant coating or as a polished stainless steel type for hygienic applications. An explosion-proof model is available as well. Three slots for measuring, control and communication modules (Profibus PA) allow for individual adjustment to different processes: several measured variables, e.g. pH/oxy, pH/cond, pH/pH or cond/oxy can be processed simultaneously in any combination.
