Nord’s high-efficiency so- lutions are based on special designs and materials, such as larger copper windings and special shield metals within the stator of a three-phase motor. Higher expenses, however, are quickly compensated since the power bill makes up 98 % of the TCO of almost all electric motors. Energy-efficient motors from Nord comply with the European EFF1 norm as well as the North American EPAct, NRCan and Nema MG-1 sta-ndards. Due to an optimised gear design and the use of special synthetic lubricants, mechanical wear is reduced and maintenance requirements are low in gears for energy-efficient drives.
