Eka Chemicals, a business unit in Akzo Nobel, has decided to increase its production capacity for hydrogen peroxide at the plants in Bohus and Alby, Sweden. The reason is a growing demand in the Nordic pulp industry for hydrogen peroxide as a bleaching agent. The expansion means that Eka Chemicals‘ plants will increase capacity by some 15,000 t/a. with minor investments, step by step over a period of two years.
