An innovative solution for diaphragm failure safety is developed by ProMinent. The patented mechanically displaced multi-layer safety diaphragm is an intelligent alternative to the conventional options. This safety device is already integrated in the liquid end of the motor metering pump Makro TZ for applications of up to 12 bar and increases both its reliability and the pump’s life. Its both outsides consist of a Teflon layer. The sensor is a capsular-like chamber in the clamping area of the multi-layer dia-phragm. If the first diaphragm layer ruptures, the elastic expansion triggers a movement switch and a signal to the operator. The second diaphragm layer guarantees a continued safe operation until the dia-phragm has been replaced. The user saves additional precautions against leakages and batch contaminations. The motor metering pump series Makro TZ (TZMb) is equipped with the system and operates in a capacity range of up to 640 l/h at 12 bar or up to 2,100 l/h at 4 bar with a dosing accuracy of ±2 %. The four material types SST (1.4404), PP, PVC, and PTFE guarantee chemical resistance and a broad range of applications. Thanks to the Atex-compliant design, the Makro TZ (TZMb) meets the safety standards, also in a potentially explosive atmosphere.
