A communication module for Profibus DP is now available for the multifunctional, modular PNOZmulti safety system. Diagnostic data and controller information can now be downloaded from the PNOZmulti to the standard controller via the standard fieldbus. This reduces the amount of wiring involved and lowers costs.
The PNOZmulti safety system covers up to 14 safety functions, such as emergency stop, two-hand or speed monitoring, and can also be used to perform standard functions. Instead of laborious wiring, users create the circuit within the PNOZmulti Configurator, an easy-to-use configuration tool. The configuration is stored on a chip card, which is inserted into the PNOZmulti base unit.
Even the Profibus DP connection is easily configured via drag and drop. Connection to other standard fieldbus systems such as CANopen or DeviceNet is in development.
