The high temperature bulk powder cooling technology from Bulkflow has an innovative design using horizontal water-cooled tubes. This minimises thermal stresses and accommodates thermal expansion. The system cools bulk solids with temperatures up to 1000 °C. High temperature solids flow slowly by gravity over the cooling tubes while indirectly being cooled.
The benefit of the tube design compared to the plate design is that the geometry of the tube is perfectly uniform with even temperature distribution throughout the tube wall to avoid hot spots and local stresses.
